Provincial Senate and Referendum Questions - Where to Vote?
The Province of Alberta has delegated the Senate Election and Referendum Vote to ALL municipalities in Alberta, regardless if a local election is required. Residents are to vote in the municipality that they live in on Monday, October 18th.

The municipal election for Vulcan County will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021


Divisions of Vulcan County 

Vulcan County has seven electoral divisions in which one councillor is elected for each division. Vulcan County’s Reeve and Deputy Reeve are elected amongst council members on an annual basis at Vulcan County’s Organizational Meeting. To view our electoral division maps, please click here

Provincial Senate Election and Referendum Vote to be held on October 18th 

Vulcan County will be conducting the senate election and referendum vote for County residents in conjunction with the local election. Voting stations will be set up throughout the County to accommodate the vote. Please visit our Voter Information page for up-to-date information on voting opportunities. Residents must vote at their designated voting station on Election Day. 

Senate Election: Albertans will be electing 3 people (as per the Alberta Senate Election Act) whose names are to be submitted by the Government of Alberta to the Queen's Privy Council for Canada as persons who may be summoned to the Senate of Canada for the purpose of filling a vacancy relating to Alberta. Referendum Questions: Albertans are being asked two questions in the referendum vote on October 18, 2021. Both referendum questions allow for a ‘yes’ vote or a ‘no’ vote and are binding on the provincial government, based on the majority of votes cast. Click here to view the Questions
