Vulcan County is currently in the early stages of reviewing its Land Use Bylaw and is seeking your feedback!.

The Land Use Bylaw is the document that divides the municipality into districts (zones), regulates the permitted and discretionary uses that can be developed in each district, and establishes rules for, and the method of deciding upon development permits and subdivision applications.

Time for Taxes

Your 2018 Combined Assessment and Tax Notice were mailed on May 22, 2018. If you have not received your notice please contact the administration office at 403-485-2241. Taxes are due on July 31, 2018.


Attention Grain Haulers !

Please help prevent the spread of weed seed in our County.  Under the Alberta Weed Control Act it is illegal to clean out your grain trailer on county road allowances. If you see anyone dumping grain on road allowances please report them to our Protective Services Department at 403-485-3115.

2% LSC Strychnine

Vulcan County has received delivery of 2% LSC Strychnine. This program will operate with the producer filling out the required paperwork to receive the product. Only Bona fide farmers or ranchers are eligible to purchase this product.  To purchase, visit the Vulcan County Shop Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  For more information on this program, please call 403-485-3103, or 403-485-3124 or visit the Vulcan County shop during regular office hours. 2018 Pricing: $11.50 per 250ml bottle; $252/case (24 x 250ml bottles)

Wildfire - A Threat to our Community

Alberta’s Wildfire Season is starting on March 1. The Office of the Fire Commissioner, municipalities and fire departments across Alberta, Alberta Agriculture and Forestry, and Alberta FireSmart are all working to help raise awareness about wildfire - Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) and grass fires.
