Vulcan County maintains active memberships and provides support to many organizations within its boundaries.

Some of these being

Adult Learning – Adult Learning is a not-for-profit organization funded by Government Grants.  We strive to provide continuing education opportunities for adult learners in our community.  Our course calendar is published twice a year; in September and January.  Check out our website for all up-to-date information on available classes!

Rainbow Literacy – Rainbow Literacy Society (RLS) has been serving Vulcan County residents with Adult and Family Literacy programs for over 17 years! Rainbow Literacy Society is a volunteer, non-profit society which was formed in 1993 by a group of volunteers from Vulcan County that believed Literacy for All was important.

Twin Valley Water Commission - Vulcan County, along with the Town of Vulcan, the Village of Carmangay, and the Village of Champion, is a member of the Twin Valley Regional Water Committee, which is in the process of becoming a commission. This committee has been working towards regionalizing the provision of piped potable water

Vulcan Business Development Society – Incorporated in 2005 and funded by Vulcan County and the Town of Vulcan, the Societies' Board of Directors is made up of representatives from all municipalities in the region: Vulcan County, Town of Vulcan and the Villages of Arrowwood, Milo, Lomond, Champion and Carmangay.

The VBDS mandate is:

  • to promote economic development and growth within the County, Town and Villages
  • to promote, co-ordinate, facilitate and carry out studies, activities, projects, and programs to attract and retain investment, create employment, and enhance economic development, and
  • to promote the area as an attractive place to invest, carry on business, reside and visit.

Vulcan & District Waste Commission.

The Vulcan & District Waste Commission operates 5 transfer stations throughout the County.  Their operating hours are available here.
